Position paper on Decentralised Finance (De-Fi)

Published: - Updated:

Decentralised Finance (De-Fi) is a fast-developing cornerstone of digital finance that can present many innovative opportunities to the financial system. On the other side, the concept of De-Fi is still new, and its technological complexity requires further regulatory attention. The position paper provides several policy considerations that FESE believes are crucial in regulating De-Fi and creating an efficient international policy framework.

FESE believes that Ce-Fi institutions can play a crucial role in the supervision of De-Fi, and they can act as gatekeepers. To provide legal clarity on the international stage, FESE welcomes the Financial Stability Board (FSB) initiative to create an international framework for crypto-asset regulation.
